The Waldo Canyon fire erupted in June of 2012, 347 homes were destroyed and 18,247 acres were burned. The Waldo Canyon Fire resulted in insurance claims totaling more than $453.7 million dollars and at the time was the most costly wildfire in Colorado history. Two people lost their lives.
