Land Use Plans

Land Use Plans

Land use plans are an essential part of land ownership and stewardship. We are experienced in evaluating existing land resource conditions and designing, implementing and managing land use plans for a variety of uses including:

  • Forestry and rangeland,
  • Agricultural,
  • Natural areas, parks and recreation,
  • Industrial and residential land development,
  • Mining,
  • Oil and gas, and
  • Hunting.

Range Management

A comprehensive ranch and range management plan is an essential part of any ranching operation. Management plans increase biological awareness, optimize production capacity, address historic and cultural preservation, and promote the overall health of the operation. We have successfully implemented rotational grazing plans that have improved resource utilization, rangeland health, surface water quality and livestock production.

Integrated Resource Management Plans

We have developed Integrated Resource Management Plans (IRMPs). In coordination with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), we have assisted tribes in developing IRMPs for their reservations. With a comprehensive IRMP in place, tribal governments are better able to evaluate the condition of their natural resources, assess their commercial viability, and develop utilization plans.

We develop management IRMP strategies that provide direction and stability for the sustained growth of tribal economies, while preserving traditional values and protecting sensitive resources. We fully honor confidentiality agreements concerning sensitive tribal resources.

Natural Resource Damage Assessments (NRDAs) evaluate the impacts of unplanned, catastrophic events on natural resources. Our NRDA assessments use field data, sound scientific methods and financial procedures to gather, evaluate and assign economic values to natural resources damaged by such events. Regional economic and political factors often influence claims and our staff is experienced in the assimilation of such information.
